At Procademy , we believe that reliability should not be a marketing promise, but something you literally test. That is why we recently did a tabletop test together with our hosting partner Combell, a simulated disaster exercise in which we check step by step what happens when things go wrong.
Consider scenarios such as: what if a data center fails? What if a backup fails? And how quickly can we restore everything without affecting customers?
During the exercise, we simulated a complete data loss due to an imaginary fire in the data center. Together with Combell, we checked how quickly we could restore our systems and how completely the data were restored. Within half an hour, everything was operational again, faster than expected.
"Calling out that you can guarantee 100 percent uptime is nothing special these days," explains our CTO Peter Esser. "But with a tabletop test you demonstrate that that uptime will hold up even in disaster scenarios."
The test not only showed how robust our infrastructure is, redundant, secure and always available, but also how well the collaboration with Combell works when it really matters.
While the development team focused on technical fixes, our support team proactively kept customers informed via our status page. Clear communication, short lines of communication and quick turnaround proved just as important as the technology itself.
