E-learning is not a daily cost for the average driver, but with the advent of the Code 95 on periodic training, which is mandatory at European level (every professional driver must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years), e-learning is a godsend! The driver no longer has to spend a whole day in a classroom, as 20 of the 35 hours of compulsory periodic training can be spent via e-learning. This offers enormous advantages for the driver, the transporter and the trainer. A real win-win-win situation.
With e-learning you can respond very specifically to the customer's situation. For example, securing a load for a furniture transporter can be provided in a custom-made version in addition to another version for an aviation caterer. This makes learning more fun and relevant for the driver. And because of the mandatory interim test, as a driver you really need to have studied the material thoroughly. This improves knowledge assurance and that contributes to road safety.
In order to be able to serve the transport sector well, we have Procademy provide a number of additional functionalities in recent months. With these, the CBR (CCV / Vocational examinations) can now better monitor whether the theory course that is given via Procademy the driver in question was actually followed. In addition to the ready-made code 95 content that we offer to trainers in cooperation with publisher Smit, trainers also have the opportunity to develop their own course material. This last option makes us unique within the transport sector.
Tomorrow (10 September 2016) the deadline for achieving the required 35 hours of refresher training code 95 will expire for the first time in the Netherlands. This will immediately start the new cycle of 5 years. Many drivers have at the last moment still achieved their code 95 hours, whether or not via Procademy. We were told by many trainers, transporters and drivers that they would like to start again with the first 7 hours soon, in order to spread the study load well.
In view of the enthusiastic reactions from the market, we will be working hard after this exhibition to raise the use of e-learning within the transport sector, together with our partners from the transport world, to an ever higher level over the next 5 years.
