With webinar software you can get as close as possible to the experience of a classroom meeting. You can also communicate to your participants that the webinar starts at the same time as the (cancelled) meeting.
Simply replace the meeting with a webinar.
Webinar software is designed to interact with a group of participants. Functions such as presence processing are also nice to be able to record that a participant was present. With webinar software you offer just that little bit more than a Skype or Teams meeting.

Please note that the data is stored with Zoom in the USA, often "data outside the EU" has to be mentioned separately in the processing agreement, please consult your DPO / AVG contact person about this.

Why isn't a webinar a complete replacement for your meeting?
A webinar doesn't really lend itself for longer than 1 to 2 hours. Since many training sessions take at least a part of a day, you'll be short of time. It is therefore advisable to provide the participant with additional online teaching material. See the next point!
In addition to a webinar, offer the participant extra online learning materials so that you can provide a fully-fledged alternative.
What does my teacher need to hold a webinar?
In addition to a good internet connection, the quality of the microphone and webcam used is important. The advice is to work at least with an external USB microphone, and (certainly) not with the built-in microphone in your laptop. In a classroom meeting the teacher will use certain work assignments / practice forms. This can not be applied so easily within a webinar. In a webinar the interaction is generally limited to question-and-answer with the teacher. For this reason, you should also add online work assignments, so that you can offer the participant an equivalent learning experience.
